Gordon Badger Stadium & J.D.A. Raceway
The Grandstand at Gordon Badger Stadium is a dominant feature of the park.
It has a covered seating area with a capacity of 2,668. Bleacher seating can be added to both ends of the Stadium to bring the grandstand area capacity to near over 5,000.
If the infield is utilized for seating, crowds of over 10,000 can be accommodated for a concert or other event.
Gordon Badger Stadium was filled to capacity and bleachers and extra seating were used as the largest single-event crowd in the history of the Peace Country watched Nitro Circus at Gordon Badger Stadium in September of 2016. Over 7,200 attended.
The Gordon Badger Stadium overlooks a 5/8 mile race track - J.D.A. Raceway - consisting of sand and loam. The track is considered one of the best and safest in North America and in the spring of 2019 underwent a renovation that included hauling in hundreds of loads of new surface material.
Gordon Badger Stadium hosts live pari-mutuel racing in the summer as well as chuckwagon racing during the annual Grande Prairie Stompede and Boots and Moccasins Weekend. It is also used for rodeos, monster trucks, horsemanship competitions, tractor pulls, sled dog racing and many more events throughout the year.
Under the grandstand is a large, open area called the MNP Concourse, that includes washrooms and a concession stand. The area can be rented for banquets and other events for up to 500 people. The Pines Family Restaurant is located under the grandstand.
